Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford) is a British born American singer on guitar who took the lead in The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. They gained attention for their provocative songs and punk-rock fashion. The band was never able to The Runaways to become an instant hit in the United States, however, they enjoyed a great deal of attention in other countries and in particular Japan. After the band split in 1979 Ford embarked upon a successful solo career in the world of heavy metal. After taking lessons in singing, she released her solo debut album, called 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin"On The Edge'. Both the albums did not receive much success and Ford was largely absent from the rock world for several years. The singer returned with her hit album , 'Lita' which came out in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly (single) as well as Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were among her greatest hits. However, her success was only short lived and for several additional years she was absent. In 1995 she debuted "Black" and fifteen years later , she released 'Wicked. The album "Time Capsule" was released in the year 2016 by her. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
